Routers Fabricated News - About Beijing Olympic 2008

On Aug 10, 2008, Routers published an artilce on its website tittled “Olympics-Gymnastics-Hosts China Fail to Qualify for Final”. It was caught by a Chinese media “Southern Daily” (Nan Feng Ri Bo) and it took a snap shot. Since then, the shap shot has been spead on website. Routers removed its original article from its website later. Here is the snap shot taken by Southern Daily (Nan Feng Ri Bo).

Austria News Paper “Age” Caught Fabricating News?

(Click the photo on the left for larger size) Based on anti-cnn.com, on the July 29, 2008, one of the Austria newspapers “Age” reported “China’s planning a sweeping purge on Tibetan……..” (Quote from the newspaper) in its report titled “China Launches Tibet Crackdown”. In this report, it used a photo that showed three men in uniforms (looks like soldiers or policemen) taking a monk in red. Were those men in uniforms were Chinese policemen of soldiers? To me they were not Chinese policemen. Any foreigners who had been in Tibet and saw any policemen or soldiers in Tibet or had any knowledge about Chinese policemen would have known that those were not Chinese policemen or soldiers. Was anti-cnn.com wrongfully accused Australia Newspaper “AGE”? I don’t know. But, it was too obvious that men in uniforms were not Chinese policemen or soldiers. The man in uniform who held the monk’s right arm looks like a Nepal origin or maybe an Indian. The man in uniform at the right most looks like a Westerner. If you had been in Chinese or in Tibet, did you see any Chinese looked like those two men in the photo (see photo on top left)?Whether this photo was taken from Tibet or not, you will be the judge. If you real care about the true, you can tell if AGE fabricated news or anti-cnn.com wrongfully accused AGE. If AGE deliberately used this kind of photo to fool around most of people who had no knowledge about China and Chinese people for sometimes. It really hurts the newspaper itself for a long run because this report with the photo will remain on the record as part of AGE’s history forever. One day in the future, people will still be able tell “AGE” had fabricated news on July 29, 2008 and reporter was Richard Spencer.

If anti-cnn.com wrongfully accused AGE, then AGE should suit it for the damage of the newspaper’s reputation.

I think it would be a shame for Australia Newspaper AGE and its reporter if anti-cnn.com’s accussation were proved to be true.

Did Cafferty Mean Chinese People or Chinese Leaders?

I am amazed that how Mark Mullen, NBC News Correspondent, said to his readers about Cafferty’s comments on “thugs and goons” when referring Chinese with this language (following sentence in quote is copied and pasted from his blog) in his blog titled : “IN BEIJING, PLENTY OF PRO-CHINA FREE SPEECH”: “The driver was referring to CNN commentator Jack Cafferty, who made a comment on air about China’s leaders being “thugs and goons” – which has been taken as a personal affront by the nation of 1.3 billion people.”

Please note that Mark used words “CNN commentator Jack Cafferty, who made a comment on air about China’s leaders” in his article. But, if you watch the video or read the script of Jack Cafferty’s comments, you will find that Jack Cafferty did not refer to “Chinese leaders” in stead of “Chinese”.

How many readers believe what Mark said was true? I don’t know. But ,when you read the comments posted by his readers, you can see a lot of them believe what Mark said.

Why Mark did this? I don’t know. I cannot guess what his motivation is. Did he tell you the truth?

You are the judge after you watch Cafferty’s comments on video or its script.

Many Chinese oversea, who cannot be brainwashed by Chinese governement in any way and have been watching a lot of news from CNN and NBC, feel offended and are angry about Caffety’s comments. They also have taken the Cafferty’s comment as a “personal affront” (in Mark’s language).

I don’t know how Mr. Mark Mullen can explain this to his readers?

A journalist should have his professional standard. If a journalist lies to you, do you still consider him or her a true journalist?

If a journalist thinks you are an idiot and will believe what he or she reports to you and you take what he/she reported to you, you are a true idiot.

Did Channel N-24 in Germany Used Forged Picture to Make News?

CNN Jack Cafferty’s Racist Language Against Chinese People

At CNN program (”The Situation Room”) on April 9, Jack Cafferty used racist language against Chinese people. He said that: “They (Chinese) are basically the same bunch goons and thugs they have been in the past fifty years.”(transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0804/09/sitroom.03.html) .

A website has been set up to demand apology by the Legal Immigrant Association. Many offended Chinese had signed their pettions. Because so many people want to sign the petition, its website once was very slow because its limited bandwidth. Petitioners may have to be patient and wait for a few minutes or try many times in order to sign the petition. By April 28, there were more than 100 thousand petitioners signed in. Unfortunately, the petition site was removed due to the reason some petioners did singed as anomalous..

Who is Dalai Lama?

I have been always wondering due to recent events that led to recent media buzzes and the anger of majority of Chinese people in and outside China. There is a key figure in the middle of the storm that is Dalai Lama. The views of most people from the West and those from the most Chinese are totally different about Dalai Lama. As a Chinese American who lived in China for more than 20 years and almost 20 years in USA, I believe that I knew more about USA than most ordinary people in China and more about China than most Westerners. However, I still don’t know who real Dalai Lama is after I heard and watched news from both US and China. (more…)

Evidence of CNN Cooked News

In earlier report about March 14, violence in Tibet, CNN reported 100 dead. It used a picture taken by SS Rayandy. The picture on your left was cooked by CNN and the picture on your right was the picture taken by SS Rayandy. Using that photo, CNN reported “vehicle chasing protesters” in Tibet violence. But, the original photo showed that rioters were attacking the vehicles.
This CNN report was removed from CNN’s website after many internet users pointed out that CNN cooked the news. However, the image of the original CNN report was captured by many internet users and anti-cnn.com posted this image on its website. I believe that image will stay for a long time unless CNN use its power to force this site to shut down. (more…)

More Than 10,000 Supporters Ignored by CNN

There were more than 10,000 supporters of Beijing Olympic Games showed up in San Francisco City for the Olympic Torch Relay. However, in CNN news reports, the voices of those more than 10,000 supporters of of Beijing Olympic Games were almost not being reported. Are They Protesting China’s Treatment of Tibet?

In MSNBC news, you can see following report: Here is how the Headline reads:
“Big Demonstrations Ahead of Touch Relay in S.F. ” “Thousands line City Waterfront, Many Protesting China’s Treatment of Tibet”.
But, it never mentioned that majority of them showed up were there to support China’s Olympics. This is the picture used by MSNBC for the news. All of them holding the red flags are supporters of China’s Olympics. They are not the protesters against China, but supporters. MSNBC never told its audiences that there were more than 10,000 supporters of Beijing Olympics, but kept reporting protesting against China. (more…)
